چکیده

Previous research on risks in complex green building projects has been mainly focused on what the risks are and how they may impact on project objectives. Such studies have tended toward an inward looking perspective that treats risks in isolation from one another. In reality, most risks are interrelated and associated with internal or external project stakeholders. To address this research gap, this current research developed a Social Network Analysis (SNA) based stakeholder-associated risk analysis method to assess and analyse the risks and their interactions in complex green building projects. A case study was conducted to highlight the green-specific risks and their profiles, together with the proposed mitigation actions. The research results presented in this paper may broaden researchers and construction professionals’ awareness of influential risks in green building projects and enhance their ability to perceive, understand, assess, and mitigate the risks in an effective and efficient way; thereby achieving higher performance in strategic risk management and stakeholder communication in green building

Analysing Stakeholder-associated Risks in Green Buildings: A Social Network Analysis Method

In the research of risk associated with developing energy and water efficient green buildings, previous studies had mainly focused on “what the risks are and how the risks may impact on project objectives”, which were from an inward looking self-perspective and treated the risks in isolation from one another. While intensive research efforts have been dedicated to risk identification, assessmen...

Understanding Stakeholders’ Influence on Project Success with a New SNA Method: A Case Study of the Green Retrofit in China

Stakeholders strongly influence project success, particularly for complex projects with heterogeneous stakeholders, and hence, understanding their influence is essential for project management and implementation. This paper proposes an original model based on social network analysis (SNA), which first introduces critical success factors (CSFs) as intermediate variables between stakeholders and ...

Project Portfolio Risk Response Selection Using Bayesian Belief Networks

Risk identification, impact assessment, and response planning constitute three building blocks of project risk management. Correspondingly, three types of interactions could be envisioned between risks, between impacts of several risks on a portfolio component, and between several responses. While the interdependency of risks is a well-recognized issue, the other two types of interactions remai...

Green Supply Chain Risk Network Management and Performance Analysis: Bayesian Belief Network Modeling

With the increase in environmental awareness, competitions and government policies, implementation of green supply chain management activities to sustain production and conserve resources is becoming more necessary for different organizations. However, it is difficult to successfully implement green supply chain (GSC) activities because of the risks involved. These risks alongside their resourc...
